In 2004, the Royal Navy frigate HMS Scylla was deliberately sunk in Whitsand Bay, Cornwall, to create a world-class artificial reef. Resting at a maximum depth of 24 metres, this 113-metre Leander-class frigate is now one of the UK's most celebrated wreck dives for recreational divers.
The wreck lies upright on a sandy seabed, making it accessible and safe for penetration training. Swim through the cavernous helicopter hangar, explore the galley, and peer into the engine room — all while being surrounded by a thriving ecosystem of conger eels, pollock, and vibrant jewel anemones.
Our guided expeditions offer flexible itineraries, allowing novice wreck divers to enjoy the exterior while advanced divers can safely penetrate the interior under the supervision of our experienced local guides.
